Stan James have seen several 5-figure bets before 10am as the money flies in on the Gold Cup; Long Run remains 9/4 for now.
Stan James’ Rory Jiwani says, “We’ve already taken some lumpy bets this morning. We’ve laid two bets of 12,000 pounds on Boston Bob at 6/4 in the Albert Bartlett and the same about on Long Run at 9/4 for the big one with StanJames.com going top price every runner in the race until the off.
“We’ve also laid a bet of 5,000 pounds each-way on French Opera in the Grand Annual at 16/1. If Nicky Henderson’s horse came in, that would cost us a cool 100 grand.
“We’ve also made a fixed-odds market for the Gold Cup forecast. Long Run to beat Kauto Star heads the betting at 6/1 while we go 10/1 that they finish in reverse order. A Nicky Henderson one-two of Long Run and Burton Port is also a 10/1 shot. Interesting long shots are Weird Al to beat Long Run at 40/1 and Synchronised to beat Kauto Star at 66/1.”
