FA Cup Fifth Round Preview

Chris Hutcheon previews the action from this weekend’s FA Cup fifth round ties, highlighting the best money making opportunities.

Most of the Premier League big boys are still in the FA Cup, with holders Arsenal hosting Hull City on Saturday and they are 4/7 favourites (bet365) to claim victory at the first time of asking. The Tigers are in good form and William Hill have 5/1 about a surprise victory at the Emirates.

Bournemouth meet Everton at the Vitality Stadium, with the Cherries 9/4 outsiders (Stan James) to book their place in the last eight, although the bookies expect the Toffees to reach the quarter finals instead. Ladbrokes have 6/5 about Roberto Martinez’s team landing the spoils.

Reading are 8/5 (Winner) to beat a West Brom side who have previously beaten Peterborough and Bristol City, with the Baggies big at 19/10 (Ladbrokes) to claim victory at the Madejski Stadium.

Leeds are another Championship side looking to go through and they are 9/2 (bet365) to claim victory at Vicarage Road, although Watford are a 7/10 chance (Sky Bet) to keep their FA Cup dreams alive.

Blackburn have home advantage against West Ham and Rovers are a 5/2 poke (bet365) to cheer up their supporters after a season of disappointment, although the Hammers are certainly up for the cup and Ladbrokes offer 6/5 about an away win.

Tottenham are 13/20 (William Hill) to beat Crystal Palace on Sunday although they might be fatigued from Thursday’s Europa League date with Fiorentina and the Eagles are 5/1 (bet365) to spring a cup upset at White Hart Lane after winning at St Mary’s in the previous round.

Chelsea v Manchester City is a clash of the former titans, with the home side seemingly having the momentum and BetVictor have 21/20 about the London side, while Manuel Pellegrini’s side are 5/2 (Paddy Power) to win.

Shrewsbury are a 10/1 chance (Winner) to upset Manchester United on Monday night, with the Red Devils 2/7 (William Hill) to come through their trip at the New Meadow unscathed.
