Northampton represent a solid bet at even money (Betfred) as they welcome Morecambe to Sixfields in League Two.
Leaving aside a 4-1 defeat at Barnet, a match that saw them reduced to ten men after nine minutes, Northampton have been in solid form over the last few weeks, winning four out of seven in the league, holding Rotherham and Port Vale to creditable draws and running League One high-flyers Sheffield Wednesday close in the FA Cup.
There’s little to suggest they can’t continue their decent run this weekend as they welcome inconsistent Morecambe to Sixfields and at evens with Betfred, the Cobblers are one of the best bets in League Two this weekend.
Third–placed Bury have been altogether stronger on the road this season than they have at Gigg Lane but up against a Stevenage side with just one league win in seven, the Shakers can turn in a better performance in front of their own supporters to collect a maximum haul, a result rated by William Hill at a generous 23/20.
We’ve had our fingers burned a couple of times tipping rock-bottom Hereford to break their duck at home and with the Bulls still seeking their first home win, it’s back to Edgar Street we go on Saturday. However, on this occasion, we’re not taking a chance on 888Sport’s 7/5 for the hosts to finally grab a maximum on their own patch as they tackle unpredictable Macclesfield, instead we’re going for goals.
The Bulls have one of the division’s leakiest defences and have conceded ten in four in all competitions while the Silkmen, in just three games, have leaked a dozen. Don’t expect defences to be on top then in this one, which is a tasty 11/10 with Paddy Power to produce more than 2.5 goals.
Recommended Bets:
Northampton to beat Morecambe – evens (Betfred)
More than 2.5 goals in Hereford v Macclesfield – 11/10 (Paddy Power)
Bury to beat Stevenage – 23/20 (William Hill)
