Championship Team News

Get the lowdown on all of the team news for the latest round of Championship matches before you put your money on.

Blackpool v Watford
BLACKPOOL have no new injury problems, Elliot Grandin isn’t yet ready for a first team return following foot surgery and Alex Baptiste is still suffering from hamstring trouble. Similarly, WATFORD could name the same team that drew with Leeds last week, however Lloyd Doyley is set to make the bench as he continues his rehabilitation after a thigh injury.

Brighton v Burnley
BRIGHTON are boosted by the return of Ryan Harley from a hamstring injury but Marcos Painter (hamstring) and Vicente Rodriquez (thigh) miss out and Will Hoskins (knee) is a major doubt. Martin Paterson and Charlie Austin are pushing for starts for BURNLEY, giving boss Eddie Howe a selection headache in attack and the Clarets have no fresh concerns.

Bristol City v Nottingham Forest
CITY duo Ryan McGivern and Neil Kilkenny look set to miss out having suffered respective thigh and ankle injuries against Derby last time out but Stephen Pearson is available again. Guy Moussi is suspended for FOREST after picking up a fifth booking of the season and Wes Morgan is a doubt with ankle and knee trouble so Joel Lynch could return to the defence.

Cardiff City v Middlesbrough
CARDIFF are hopeful that midfield pair Aron Gunnarsson and Stephen McPhail will be available but centre-back Anthony Gerrard (hamstring) is doubtful for the hosts. MIDDLESBROUGH defender Tony McMahon is banned but boss Tony Mowbray will give Marvin Emnes (hamstring) and Marouane Zemmama (hip) every chance to prove their fitness.

Doncaster v Leicester
Lamine Diatta could make his DONCASTER debut after signing a short-term deal, George Friend and Richard Naylor are also pushing for starts but Pascal Chimbonda (hip) and El Hadji Diouf (hamstring) are out. Matt Mills is still suspended for LEICESTER but Paul Gallagher is available despite limping out of the Peterborough game with an ankle problem.

Hull v Millwall
Robbie Brady is available for HULL after serving a three-match ban, Richard Garcia is fully fit having come off the bench last weekend but Seyi Olofinjana (knee) and Martin Pusic (hip) remain sidelined. MILLWALL are without the ineligible Jay Simpson, Darius Henderson will take his place, David Forde (thigh) is still out but Josh Wright (back) is nearing a return.

Ipswich v Derby
IPSWICH will have Arran Lee-Barrett in goal after David Stockdale was recalled by parent-club Fulham, Ivar Ingimarsson sits out with a broken nose but skipper Grant Leadbitter returns from a groin problem. DERBY are confident that Theo Robinson (hamstring) will be ready, Tamas Priskin is ineligible but John Brayford (thigh) could be recalled to the bench.

Leeds v Reading
Alex McCarthy is ineligible so Andy Lonergan returns in goal for LEEDS after recovering from a broken finger. Ross McCormack and Michael Brown hope to start but Jonny Howson (knee) faces a long lay-off. READING will monitor Jimmy Kebe, who suffered a knock against West Ham, Brynjar Gunnarsson (calf) is out but Adam Federici and Noel Hunt are fit.

Peterborough v Coventry
PETERBOROUGH skipper Grant McCann is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee injury but Paul Taylor, Craig Alcock and Lee Frecklington should all be available. Cody McDonald (knee) misses out for COVENTRY, Sammy Clingan is absent with a broken toe but Chris Hussey is in line for a return having missed the last two games with ankle trouble.

West Ham v Barnsley
WEST HAM are without suspended pair Jack Collison and Joey O’Brien, who were both dismissed at Reading, Guy Demel (thigh) is added to an already lengthy absentee list but Henri Lansbury is back. Jay McEveley is battling to recover from a thigh problem in time for BARNSLEY while Miles Addison and Rob Edwards are in contention for recalls in defence.

Portsmouth v Southampton (Sun)
PORTSMOUTH captain Liam Lawrence is ready to return from the ankle injury that has seen him sidelined for six weeks while Luke Varney is confident of shrugging off a knee problem. SOUTHAMPTON are hopeful that ‘keeper Kelvin Davis will have recovered sufficiently from a calf strain to take his place in goal but Richard Chaplow (knee) is rated as doubtful.

Crystal Palace v Birmingham (Mon)
PALACE winger Wilfried Zaha has accrued five bookings and serves a suspension while defenders Dekel Keinan (ankle) and Dean Moxey (knee) are struggling. Jordan Mutch could again make the BIRMINGHAM bench after his return from a broken ankle against Maribor in midweek, Stephen Carr returns but the game is probably too soon for Liam Ridgewell (thigh).
