Paul Ferguson two selections for us on Sunday; Un Ace in the Huntingdon 13:15 and Lieutenant Colonel in the Naas 2:30. Compare odds and bet.
Despite falling early on at Cheltenham on his debut over fences Un Ace (1:15) is worth taking a chance on at Huntingdon on Sunday.
Kim Bailey’s six-year-old was a smart novice hurdler last season and threatens to develop into an equally smart chaser this time around. The extra half-mile will suit this afternoon and, assuming he can get into an early rhythm, he is taken to make amends.
Over in Ireland, another novice chaser to support is Lieutenant Colonel (2:30) for Dessie Hughes and Bryan Cooper.
Another classy novice hurdler last season, the five-year-old won a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse in April, and has the physique to do even better over fences. He faces another smart sort in the shape of Minella Foru on debut, but the Gigginstown House Stud runner is fancied to come out on top.
