Kayf Blanco 4/1 @ Kempton

Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Kayf Blanco in the Kempton 13:30. Compare odds and bet.

It is very much hoped that Kempton survives an early morning inspection as there are plenty of interesting runners on the card, notably in the two divisions of the bumper and earlier on the card in the shape of Nicky Henderson’s West Wizard and Josses Hill.

The former steps up in trip and remains a horse of some interest, but faces several unknown quantities here.  Of the unexposed horses The Last Euro caught my eye before his debut under rules and probably ran his race in the preliminaries; I wouldn’t be surprised if he left that form behind and outrun his odds (opened up 25/1 last night).

In the opening conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle, it can pay to give another chance to Kayf Blanco (1:30) who is becoming a little expensive to follow, but remains a useful prospect and shaped well here in a bumper last March.

The six-year-old the showed promise on his first couple of starts over hurdles, before failing to justify favouritism on his handicap bow at Wetherby.  The winner has since won easily off a 10lb higher mark, so he has to be worth another chance off just 3lb higher.  Ryan Hatch takes over in the saddle and the selection was trading at 4-1 overnight with Bet365 – he might even look an each-way bet this morning if the market continues to speak in favour of Paul Nicholls’ Celestino.

Friday’s selection:
1:30 Kempton: Kayf Blanco; 4/1 bet365
