Fergie’s three to follow

Paul Ferguson has one selection from Goodwood; Endless Time at 2.25 and two from Galway on Thursday; Lac Kivu at 4.00 and Project Bluebook at 4.35.

It’s day three at Glorious Goodwood, where the feature event, the Group 1 Nassau Stakes, looks just about the race of the week.

I expect the trip to be well within reach for Winter, but at the prices against this opposition, I would prefer to watch than play. The John Gosden pair could easily put it up to the dual 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes heroine.

Earlier on the card ENDLESS TIME (2:25) is the one to be with in the Lilly Langtry.

A soft ground winner, she drops in class having finished a close-up fourth in the Yorkshire Cup before taking her chance in the Ascot Gold Cup.

Back against her own sex and with stamina assured, she ticks plenty of boxes and can strike for Godolphin.

Headway was one I was particularly looking forward to seeing in action this week – runs in the Richmond Stakes – but the ground is a complete unknown and it has to be a concern if the rain continues.

Over in Ireland LAC KIVU (4:00) can make it two from two over hurdles in Galway’s Guinness Novice Hurdle.

An emphatic winner at Punchestown on debut – runner-up won next time before disappointing here on Tuesday – he looks an exciting prospect and can score for Mullins and Walsh.

The feature is of course the Galway Hurdle and at the prices (both available at 20-1 on Wednesday afternoon) I’m having a small each-way interest on both PROJECT BLUEBOOK (4:35) and JOEY SASA.

The former was my original selection for the race from when the entries were first released and his recent second on the Flat at Catterick should have teed him up nicely for this. He will need to jump better than when winning at Fairyhouse and the drier the ground the better his chance.

Noel Meade’s Joey Sasa burst a blood vessel at Cheltenham but ran well in defeat at Punchestown and travels through his races like a smart horse. The trip is a slight concern with him – appears to want somewhere in between 2m and 2m4f – but a strongly run race should suit. In contrast to Project Bluebook, deteriorating ground shouldn’t be too much of a hindrance.

Thursday’s selections:
2:25 Goodwood – Endless Time; 11/4 bet365
4:00 Galway – Lac Kivu; 10/11 William Hill
4:35 Galway – Project Bluebook; `6/1 bet365
