Home in on 6/1 double

Live on SS4, BBC Alba & ESPN: Peter Sharkey goes for a Kilmarnock & St Johnstone double (6/1, BetVictor) in the SPL and also fancies a Hibs draw.

Given recent results between Kilmarnock and Hearts, punters will be a tad surprised to see the Rugby Park side priced at 2/1 (Stan James) to register another victory tomorrow. Killie have won all three duels involving the pair this term, while Hearts have the SPL’s worst away record, yet it’s the Edinburgh team, five points adrift of Kilmarnock, who kick off as bet365’s 13/8 favourites. Understandably, backers have been taking full advantage of BetVictor’s generous-looking 12/1 posted about a 2-1 home win.

St Mirren won their first two matches against Dundee earlier in the season and led 1-0 when the pair met in March before the Dark Blues staged a comeback to triumph 2-1. Paddy Power anticipates no such heroics tomorrow, pricing the Saints at 3/4 to win. Skybet’s 11/4 for it to end all square has found support, as has Ladbrokes’ 7/2 for St Mirren to register three points following a drawn first half.

Each of the three matches between Celtic and Inverness have produced away wins this term and bet365 offer Thistle at 7/1 to make it four at Parkhead on Sunday. Not surprisingly, Celtic kick off as William Hill’s 2/5 favourites, but Coral’s generous-looking 28/1 for Terry Butcher’s men to win 1-0 has found favour amongst bolder punters.

Following an outstanding run of 11 league matches, during which Ross County recorded eight wins and three draws, they’ve recently suffered three consecutive defeats, an unexpected run of form which has persuaded Stan James to price them at 12/5 before meeting St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Sunday. The Saints have lost only once in their last seven outings and this, coupled with home advantage, accounts for their status as BetVictor’s 13/10 favourites.

Three goalless draws and four encounters settled by a single goal is the recent return when Hibs and Aberdeen have met, a record which explains the appeal of bet365’s 23/10 marked against the draw. Stan James price the Dons as their 13/8 favourites and Ladbrokes mark 10/3 in favour of them enjoying a one goal margin of victory, although punters hedging their bets may fancy the look of BetVictor’s 13/2 for it to finish 1-1.

Recommended Bets:
Kilmarnock and St Johnstone double – 6/1 (BetVictor)
Hibs and Aberdeen to draw – 23/10 (bet365)
