Sun 15.00: QPR and Newcastle are 12/5 (Coral) to draw their crucial Premier League clash while a Merseyside double appeals.
Demoralised Newcastle were breathing a sigh of relief in midweek as Wigan went down at home to Swansea but they’re still deep in trouble and they head to Loftus Road hoping that relegated QPR are already dreaming of their summer holidays.
However, Rangers suggested that they still have a bit of fight in them as they narrowly went down to Arsenal last time out and they shouldn’t be written off as they come up against a Magpies outfit with a dismal away record.
Alan Pardew’s side have managed only one victory on the road all season and there’s little in their recent results to suggest they’ll put in a big performance in West London.
Nevertheless, they’re BetVictor’s 11/8 favourites while bet365 post 12/5 against Harry Redknapp’s troops, who are hardly tearing up trees themselves and as neither side can point to any form, Coral’s 12/5 for the spoils to be shared gets the nod.
Moreover, there’s every chance this one could finish goalless, an outcome BetVictor chalk up at 12/1. QPR haven’t scored in four outings and Newcastle aren’t much more prolific having struck only once in the same period so goals should be at a premium in this one.
Elsewhere, Sunderland and Southampton are 23/10 courtesy of Skybet to draw their crucial-looking showdown at the Stadium of Light and an inconclusive contest, priced by Betfred at 5/2, is also on the cards as off-colour Norwich entertain West Brom.
Merseyside pair Everton and Liverpool meanwhile can generate a profit for punters. The Blues are 8/15 (Paddy Power) to mark manager David Moyes’s last home game in charge by beating West Ham at Goodison Park and the Reds are 11/10 at BetVictor to defeat Fulham.
