Leopardstown stages a fantastic seven-race card on Saturday, where UNEXCEPTED (3:45) is one to be with in a typically competitive-looking Ladbrokes Hurdle.
Hugely impressive on his Irish debut, he appeared to find 2m4f too far at Limerick over Christmas and a strongly-run race over the minimum trip might be ideal. Obviously, he has limited experience for a race of this nature, but I suspect that he will be ridden prominently and he could be better than an opening mark of 137.
It could be a huge day for the Willie Mullins stable and earlier on the card CHACUN POUR SOI (1:25) is taken to land the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase.
Runner-up to A Plus Tard on his seasonal reappearance, he can step forward (as many Mullins runners have done this season) for that return and reverse form, under Paul Townend. He looked a top-class prospect when beating Defi du Seuil at Punchestown last season and he remains open to considerable improvement after just four chase starts.
